The Club Band.

Some members of our club play in a band to raise funds for our club or for other charities throughout the year. The band name is called 'Rewired'

The band members are:

Vice District Governor Barry Miller = Drums

Lions President Ken Marshall = Keyboard

Harry Brett = Guitar & Vocals

John 'Guitar' Hayes = guess!

'Holy' Brian Williams = Guitar

& various guest musicians/singers.

The first Youtube clip is from a band fundraising night 'Spring into Summer' on 29th May 2010 held at St. Georges Church hall Benfleet.
This band night raised over £300- for Charity.

The next two are from our band night held at St. Georges Chuch Hall, Benfleet in aid of the Chris Yeates Spinal injury trust held on the 26th September 2009.

Most of the club band members played at a BBC Children in Need fundraising event, at the Ocean City Chinese Restaurant in Leigh Broadway, organised by the Lions Club of Leigh on Sea & attended by members of Lions Club of Leigh on Sea, Lions Club of Castle Point, Southend Lions Club and the Eastwood Lions Club branch on Friday the 20th November 2009, which was BBC Children in Need day. Over £300 was raised on the night.

Earlier in the day, the Lions club of Castle Point members collected £470 from generous commuters at Benfleet rail station on the morning & in the early evening.

In total, all 4 clubs raised just over £2,700 for BBC's Children in need on the day.

A good time was had by some, though the picture taker was too tired to take part!

Occasionally, the band does have guest players from other clubs, even though they do not know how to play the instrument when they think they can!
